Pingzy helps professionals create a simple page that shows their work, collects verified recommendations, and makes it easy for people to contact and recommend them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you create a page or use Pingzy, we collect:
- Account details — your name, email address, and a password (or a sign-in link).
- Page content you add — your headline, bio, location, profession, phone number, website, social links, profile photo, cover image, and gallery items.
- Recommendations — when someone recommends you, we collect their name and email address so we can verify the recommendation is real. Reviewers confirm by clicking a link we email them; they do not need a Pingzy account.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting providers automatically log basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the service secure and reliable. We use a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in — we do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
How we use your information
- To build and display your Pingzy page.
- To verify recommendations by emailing a confirmation link to the person recommending you.
- To send you essential service emails (such as sign-in, email confirmation, and password reset).
- To keep Pingzy secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
What is public
Your Pingzy page is public by design — that is the point of the product. The information you add to your page (name, headline, location, profession, photos, links, and the recommendations you receive) is visible to anyone with the link and can be indexed by search engines. You control what contact details are shown using the visibility toggles on each field. If your account is set to private, your page is not shown publicly.
Pingzy badges.A pro can display a Pingzy badge on their own website, in an email signature, or on a third-party site such as an agency or studio team page. The badge shows how many people recommend them, along with the first names, initials, and profile photos of a few of those people. This is the same information already public on their Pingzy page — but it means a recommender’s name and photo may appear on websites other than Pingzy. If you do not want your name or photo shown this way, ask the person you recommended to remove your recommendation, or contact us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that run Pingzy for us, and only so they can provide their service:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Resend — sending our service and verification emails.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of others.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing us at the address below. Some records may be retained where required for legal or security reasons.
Children
Pingzy is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Pingzy evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
